HOW IT'S DONE
In creating a compact disc, one can combine materials to produce precisely the effects that are sought. For example, a detailed explanation may be best served by a page of text or by a voice-over; a procedure may be illustrated by a sequence of stills, by an animated sequence, or a video clip. The use of compact disc adds interactivity to this wealth of resources. Interactivity offers the trainee a chance to participate in and shape the training experience, to ask further questions and pursue lines of inquiry, and to move around autonomously. This involvement increases enjoyment, understanding and retention of information, all of which are essential to training.
The development process requires a team of resources with a variety of technical and operational backgrounds. Indeed, it is multi-disciplinary. To make it truly multimedia, the individual disciplines have to work together, so it is important that the individual team members work together as well.

- Outline the content of the course
- Storyboard the modules from a lesson-plan perspective
- Develop the content of each module, including text, video, graphics and photographs
- Storyboard the modules from a CBT navigational perspective
- Develop interactive activities to enhance the learning of the material, e.g. "checkpoint" quizzes, exercises, games, simulations of real activities
- Develop the CBT software
HTS has developed its own proprietary software, structured specifically towards product and service applications in the healthcare industry.
